Bobcat Blitz is an NIL collective facilitating NIL deals for current QU student-athletes. Bobcat Blitz is not affiliated with Quinnipiac University or QU Athletics.
NIL stands for Name, Image, and Likeness. NIL now provides the opportunity for student-athletes to be compensated for the use of their name, image, and likeness. Bobcat Blitz aims to create opportunities for student-athletes to build and enhance their personal brand while also trying to support the local community.
Unlike some collectives around the country, at this time Bobcat Blitz is giving 100% of the money contributed to student-athletes. The founding members of the collective are currently contributing to the fund to address the operating expenses. It is the long-term goal of the collective to use targeted fundraising events specifically designed to support operating expenses.
Bobcat Blitz offers QU student-athletes opportunities to engage in permissible NIL activities, including: autograph signings, social media promotions, camps and clinics, charity events, special appearances, speaking engagements, product reviews/endorsements, commercials and more.
No, the members of Bobcat Blitz are volunteering to help with this NIL effort for QU student-athletes. Members/volunteers of Bobcat Blitz are not being paid anything and in fact they are contributors to the fund.
All contributions less than $1,000 are added to the Bobcat Blitz general fund. Contributions $1,000 or greater can be directed to any specific QU sport. The Bobcat Blitz general fund focuses on supporting the men's and women’s basketball and hockey programs.
The members of the collective are not affiliated with QU in any way other than being donors. There is a committee of dedicated volunteers making these decisions and there will be more added to the committee in the future. This committee will be responsible for facilitating NIL opportunities, distributing the money to athletes and also making sure that the athletes perform the permissible NIL compensation activity.
Yes, businesses and individuals can request specific NIL opportunities with certain student-athletes (e.g., appearance requests, autographs, etc.). You can contact us at Info@BobcatBlitz.com.

Bobcat Blitz is currently not a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity which does not make personal contributions tax deductible as a charitable donation. However, a business may instruct that payments for the NIL activities by student-athletes be used to promote a business and/or market products and services. Under these circumstances a business may be able to deduct payments to Bobcat Blitz as a business expense. We strongly recommend that contributors consult a tax specialist regarding these matters. This content is not intended to constitute legal or tax advise. As the IRS provides additional guidance on how sports collectives can qualify for Federal tax-exempt status, the collective intends to obtain Federal tax-exempt status.
